The Information Systems Branch (ISB) provides IM/IT planning, architecture, project support, application development, information security, technology and information support services to the Ministry of Justice and Public Safety Sector, and for the provision of IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders.
The Senior Mid-Tier Systems Specialist provides mid-tier analysis, development, administration, operational and user support and standards development of complex multi-tier application server infrastructures and ensures integration with underlying operating systems and hosted applications. The position manages multiple environments, performs migration of application components across those environments and establishes and maintains change control procedures for infrastructure technology upgrades and business application software migrations.
This position has the ability to work from home and/or training from home, at this time.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree, diploma, or certification in a field related to computer science or equivalent.
- Proven experience with Unix-based operating systems such as Linux and Solaris, and one or more associated scripting languages such as csh, bash, perl and python.
- Experience troubleshooting, designing, implementing software/hardware and management solutions.
- Experience developing action plans and documenting infrastructure business processes.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- 5 or more years experience with Unix-based operating systems.
- 3 or more years experience troubleshooting, designing, implementing software/hardware and management solutions
- 3 or more years experience developing action plans and documenting infrastructure business processes.
- 2 or more years experience with WebMethods, Oracle Forms and Reports, Oracle WebLogic, JBoss, Apache, Adobe Experience Manager and/or Layer7 WebService gateways.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Jenkins, Ansible and/or Splunk.
