The Ministry Information Management Branch (IMB) fulfills the business needs with technology solutions and ensures ministry IM/IT investments support strategic objectives of the larger government.  The IMB Application Management unit provides full life-cycle service management, design, delivery and support to applications for ministry line-of-business divisions and corporate government applications.

The Senior Programmer Analyst will lead and coordinate application development teams in the application development lifecycle and in planning, designing, developing, testing, enhancing and maintaining mission critical applications of significant complexity (multiple platforms, environments and technologies requiring integration of new and legacy systems), and cost.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 5 years related experience including the following:
    • Experience supporting large, complex, diverse, corporate applications.
    • Experience with managing, developing and implementing IT application changes in a team or work unit.
  • 3 years related experience including the following:
    • Experience with translating strategic plans and business transformation initiatives into concrete changes into an operational environment.
    • Experience leading, mentoring and supervising staff and providing technical advice to work teams.
    • Experience with building relationships and maintaining effective communication with customers, suppliers and vendors.
    • Experience in managing application change releases for major IT applications.
  • In-depth experience in application design and development life cycle.
  • Experience in data modelling, process modelling, and/or business area analysis techniques.
  • Experience in project management concepts.

PREFERENCES

Preference may be given to those with the following certifications/experience:

  • Certification in ITIL Foundation (V3).
  • Certification in Tririga Application Platform I.
  • Certification in Tririga Application Platform II.
  • Certification in TOGAF or equivalent.
  • Working experience in Tririga Application 10.4 and Tririga Platform 3.4.
  • Working experience in an Integrated Workplace Management System or a Real Estate Management System.
  • Working experience in developing reports/queries using Cognos Business Intelligence and Financial Performance Management product.
  • Working experience as an Data Architect.
  • Working experience in Agile methodology.
  • Experience in DevOps methodology.
  • Experience of implementing/maintaining MS SharePoint application framework and platform.
  • Experience with structured and object orientated programming in a complex rules based environment.
  • Experience in a broad number of application development tools.
