POSITION SUMMARY

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Office of the Clerk is seeking a professional and creative individual with strong critical thinking, communication and analytical skills for the auxiliary full-time position of Senior Policy and Planning Analyst.

Reporting to the Procedural Clerk, the Senior Policy and Planning Analyst is responsible for coordinating and leading the research, analysis, development and implementation of Legislative Assembly policies, including the development of a comprehensive policy framework. To be successful in this role, the Senior Policy and Planning Analyst is able to work effectively in a rapidly evolving environment, translate complex issues into plain language, and collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) in business administration, public administration, law, or equivalent, and 5 years of experience.
