POSITION SUMMARY

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

Hansard Services is seeking a professional, experienced and organized individual for the auxiliary full-time position of Broadcast IT Technologist.

Reporting to the Manager, Hansard Broadcasting Services, the Broadcast IT Technologist is responsible for maintaining and supporting specialized computer systems used in the broadcasting environment, including administering and supporting the broadcasting network infrastructure in conjunction with the Legislative Assembly’s Information Technology Branch. The Broadcast IT Technologist also has primary responsibility for administering and maintaining Legislative Assembly webstreaming products, including live streaming and video-on-demand services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a degree or diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized educational institution, and a minimum of three years of related and progressive experience in the information technology field, including experience with webstreaming or television equipment.
