Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
Human Resource Operations is seeking a professional, experienced and organized individual for the auxiliary full-time position of Supervisor, Payroll and Benefits.
Reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager, the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll/benefit services for the Assembly. Under the direction of the Payroll and Benefits Manager, this position oversees all payroll runs and reporting/remittance requirements, coordinates system integration with financial and ensures compliance with statutory, legislative and policy requirements. The position is accountable for planning, managing, monitoring, and recording the Legislative Assembly’s payroll, leave, and benefits transactions. This position is the end-to-end payroll process owner and ensures the accurate processing and reporting of payroll information and the preparation of year-end adjustments. The Supervisor, Payroll and Benefits provides direction to a payroll team consisting of up to three full time equivalents (FTEs).

Applicants must have a current Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or equivalent along with five or more years of related experience, which includes experience working with in-house payroll systems. Supervisory experience and a current Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification are preferred.
