The Manager, HR Reporting & Analytics is accountable for providing strategic value added HR reporting and analytical insights that tell our story, influence decisions, and make actionable recommendations to our HR Leadership, Centres of Expertise, and our Human Resources Business Partners.

General Accountabilities:

  • Manages HR Reporting & Analytics professionals who develop insights into business and operational opportunities through data driven reporting and analysis
  • Partners with the HR leadership team, Centres of Excellence and HR Business Partner teams to understand business challenges and develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs
  • Lead Hydro One’s Workforce Planning program to operationalize current and predict future workforce requirements
  • Report on key people related metrics critical to the successful management of Hydro One’s business objectives and support regulatory fillings
  • Support the development of the appropriate visuals and dashboard to deliver insights and tell our story
  • Develop a program to annualize and streamline ad hoc HR Reporting requests
  • Identify appropriate statistical analysis techniques required to deliver insights
  • Proactively present business gaps or opportunities identified through analytics to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Leverage internal HR data using internal tools, systems, and data sources

Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources or Statistics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or relevant work experience
  • A minimum of 5 – 7 years’ related human resources data analyst experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team

Experience

  • Experience with SAP BI Reporting, dashboard functionality
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors including Workforce Analytics would be an asset
  • Experience delivering data and insights within a business environment with proven ability in using data to drive action
  • Experience managing a team of Reporting and Analytics professionals
  • Experience creating predictive models to forecast workforce requirements based on attrition, work program and business requirements
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the analytical processes that fuse HR and business data (people analytics) and how this information can drive higher levels of organizational performance
  • Statistical analysis and data visualization capabilities using tools such as Excel, Access, SPSS, Tableau
  • Outstanding consultative abilities, combined with a track record of having built effective partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups at all levels
  • Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent priorities simultaneously
  • Extensive background in data extraction, manipulation of raw data, data relationships, data mining and metrics used in the preparation of reports, dashboards and presentations
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in the analysis of a wide range of data
  • Proven ability to think conceptually, problem-solve, and generate practical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarize information concisely and present in written, graphical and/or verbal format in order to convey complex information to all levels of stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving skills: able to define the problem and generate appropriate solutions in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to build strong relationships within and across teams, peers, and business partners. High level of knowledge of HR systems and data concepts and structure
