Under the direction of the Navigation Services Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the effective management and supervision of the mental health programs and services within the organization, as well as maintain a small caseload. The team leader functions under the jurisdiction of various Acts and regulations and follows the statutory responsibilities as specified by the Mental Health Act; the Child and Family Services Act, the Freedom of Information Act and others as required.
This position requires strong leadership skills and advanced knowledge and clinical experience in mental health and concurrent disorders in the context of Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, as well as excellent communication, critical thinking and organizational skills. The selected individual will be responsible for the direct supervision of the mental health team. The Mental Health Team Lead will be responsible for assisting with ongoing crisis prevention and intervention, assessment, case management, timely and safe discharge planning, and coordination of appropriate community referrals for follow up as needed. This position oversees the day-to-day program operations while providing oversight and decision-making regarding program needs, requirements and development in collaboration with management of De dwa da dehs nye>s.
