Position Summary : The Faculty of Music, Wilfrid Laurier University, requires part-time

contract academic staff (CAS) to teach the course listed below in the Spring Term 2019 to be taught at the Waterloo Campus. Following is a brief description of the course to indicate the content and level of difficulty. We would be happy to provide additional information that may be required.

For undergraduate music therapy supervision, applicants must have clinical supervisory experience. Please see Article of the CAS Collective Agreement for more details.

MU459B – Music Therapy Internship II – 0.5 credit

Music therapy internship supervision. Successful applicants are expected to: • Know and be acquainted with the principles and practices of music-centered and Aesthetic Music Therapy. • Facilitate students in as they continue with their CAMT internship files, and guide them as they collect their final 500 hours toward accreditation. • Facilitate students in developing their clinical musicianship through song writing and improvisation. • Guide students as they develop their assessment models, providing written feedback on their clinical writing and understanding of the therapeutic process. • Provide guidance as students prepare for their CBMTE accreditation exam.

Supervisors must also be prepared to meet, as a group, at the beginning and end of each term to evaluate their roles within the program and the students overall learning. Spring Term 2019. Days, times and expected enrolment are TBD. There is a strong preference for applicants with Aesthetic Music Therapy training and experience with a variety of client populations. They must also be a CAMT approved supervisor and MTA in good standing.

Hourly rate of pay for Music Therapy supervision: $53.68 – $73.11 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation.
