Even though this position is based in Dease Lakeyou may choose to live in any of the communities within our Service Delivery Area of Smithers, Hazelton, Terrace and be compensated for costs associated with travel while providing services to Dease Lake.

A hands-on role helping children and youth in your community
An integral member of a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team and in coordination with other community agencies and professionals, you provide a range of mental health services to children, youth and their families, when the child or youth is suffering from serious emotional, psychological, behavioural or psychiatric illness.
As a Clinician, CYMH, you provide direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth and their families. Consulting with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs, you understand the importance of being involved in community education, development, coordination and prevention/early intervention programs. You build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in the community to ensure that conflicts are resolved and appropriate outcomes are achieved.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Licensed to practice Nursing in the Province of British Columbia under the College of Registered Nurses of BC and/or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC and
- Baccalaureate Degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the position or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside Canada, your need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Confirmation for equivalency for your degree is required for you to be considered. Please indicate in your resume (Include a copy of the approval; if in progress), proof must be provided on or by the closing date of the posting).
- One year full time equivalent experience providing Community based Mental Health services or supports.
Preference may be given to applicants who have the following:
- Experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of Community based Mental Health services.
- Two (2) years post Master’s degree experience working in Child and Youth Mental Health services, with responsibility for providing a wide range of Community based Mental Health services.
- Experience in Early Childhood Mental Health.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience with Family Counselling.
