Position Summary

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who ideally has some experience working in First Nations communities, brings great leadership, communication, and problem solving skills, and is an effective team member.This exciting term specific part time Nurse Practitioner (NP) role provides primary care services to the Aboriginal communities in the South Okanagan: Penticton (Penticton Indian Band), Keremeos (Lower Similkameen Indian Band), Hedley (Upper Similkameen Indian Band), Oliver (Osoyoos Indian Band), and West Kelowna (Westbank First Nations).

The NP works in a multi-disciplinary environment that includes collaboration with general physicians, health professionals, and Band health staff.

Travel between the on-reserve communities is required; a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is required.

Qualifications
• Current Nurse Practitioner registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
• Successful completion of the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)
• Successful completion of the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Centre) examination.In accordance with Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code and Section 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, preference will be given to qualified candidates with Aboriginal Ancestry.
