Office Administrator (Toronto)

FPR (First Peoples Radio) is looking for an Office Administrator who will be responsible for serving visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately and professionally while performing a variety of general administrative activities for the Toronto station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screens incoming calls, retrieves general voicemail messages, and re-directs to the appropriate person or department;
  • Sorts and routes incoming mail and packages;
  • Assists Operations and General Sales Manager on sales and programming presentations;
  • Analyzes listener responses / inquiries, complaints and other related information and prepares reports accordingly, when required;
  • Orders and maintains an inventory of office supplies;
  • May assist with backing up creative writer for sales and spec spots;
  • Assists in developing new processes that will contribute to the station’s performance;
  • Communicates with listeners ensuring that an effective flow of information is shared;
  • Integrates listener shout outs and requests into the mix;
  • Assists On-air and with scheduling of music;
  • Provides orientation for new team members;
  • Ensures the secure handling and storage of confidential documents.

Requirements & Experience

  • A degree /diploma in a relevant discipline and 2 – 4 years related experience; or equivalent; combination of education and experience;
  • Broad knowledge of music and current events for the 25 to 54 demographic;
  • Awareness of the city and area within our broadcast coverage;
  • Experience with an Indigenous organization and culture is an asset;
  • Proficiency with Internet, E-mail and other business related computer software is required.
