The Provincial, Hospital and Laboratory Health Services Division unites several branches responsible for key health service lines to ensure a high-quality, sustainable health system in BC through strategic leadership, policy, information, innovation, and accountability. These include acute and provincial services, health sector pathology services and genomic/genetic testing.
The Precision Medicine and Laboratory Services Transformation Branch, engages in strategic relationships with patients, families and a vast range of stakeholders and sector expertise (including health authority agencies, Genome BC, universities, researchers, life sciences industry partners, provincial and federal jurisdictions, and other ministries) to develop: the long term vision for provincial genomics services; improvement actions and innovative policy reforms that set precedent and ensure the provincial health sector has a sustainable, transparent and patient oriented genomic services framework; and, multi-faceted policies and financial solutions related to highly complex, multi-disciplinary issues that have an impact on patient outcomes now and into the future.
The Role: As the Senior Policy Analyst, you will coordinate and lead the research, analysis, development and implementation of strategic policies and legislation for a significant ministry program. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, sciences, natural resource management or equivalent and at least 3 years of *related experience. Master’s degree may be preferred.
*Related experience in each of the following:
- Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and policy.
- Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignment
- Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content including complex scientific information/solutions.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience in the health sector.
