Position Summary
Work where you matter! Interior Health’s East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) invites applications for the role of Registered Nurse, Endoscopy Clinic. EKRH is looking for a certified Gastro Intestinal (GI) nurse with recent and related clinical experience in the advanced specialty education area of Endoscopy.

EKRH’s Ambulatory Care Unit as a whole provides services that include Cast Clinic, Colonoscopy, Cystoscopy Clinic, Endoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Gastroscopy, Intravenous (IV) Therapy and Urodynamic Testing. As a member of the EKRH Ambulatory Care Team, you will perform pre-post procedure care of endoscopy patients as well as assist in the endo suite. Other nursing duties may be assigned in the Ambulatory Care Clinic to this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations Maternal/Child, Ambulatory Care and Day Care, or designate, you will draw upon your ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care; work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; and ensure the delivery of client-centred care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs.

Days of work are Mondays through Fridays (06:30 to 16:00 hours, 07:30 to 15:30 hours) with weekends and statutory holidays off. As a permanent employee, this position is eligible for Interior Health’s 100 percent employer-paid benefit package and enrolment in Pension Plan.

Education, Training and Experience:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)

• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned program area as required by the position: Endoscopy – Certification in gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing and a minimum of two years recent, related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

** We will also consider perioperative trained nurses with endoscopy experience.
