We are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our Visitor Services and Corporate Security Division. Reporting to the Team Leader, Security Services, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the physical security of the Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum assets;
- Protecting the National Collections;
- Ensuring safety to the visiting public, the special guests and the CMH personnel.
Successful candidates have the following qualifications, which are a deciding measure of success for this challenging opportunity:
A minimum of (6) months experience:
- Directly related to the field of security;
- In writing reports;
- In implementing control measures in problematic situations.
- Physical and practical security practices (including safety zones, security perimeter and protection of people and property);
- Safety equipment.
Other conditions of employment:
- Standard First Aid Certification;
- CPR, level C Certification;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Canadian Museum of History Security Officer Training Program;
- Canadian Museum of History Control Room Officer Training Program.
Since you will be working in a highly computerized environment, a demonstrated experience of word processing (Word), electronic spreadsheet (Excel), presentation (Power Point) and electronic mail (Outlook) is required.
Education: College Diploma in Law Enforcement or an accredited professional training in security or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: $34,067 – $41,157 (Job classification: E2)
