Senior Data Architect
Salary $66,200.03 – $75,658.71 annually
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
The Information Technology and Management Branch provides a range of information technology and information management services for the Ministry. The Branch works closely with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to assure that ministry plans and initiatives are aligned with government’s overall technology direction and standards.
Application Services Management works closely with ministry program areas on developing and implementing IM/IT strategic plans, developing operation plans by forecasting IT requirements in anticipation of future program and business needs, selecting technology solutions which provides cost-effective to ministry program goals and objectives and providing input into the annual and ten year budgeting process.
The Senior Data Architect provides expert data analysis, data design, data modeling and data quality services. They develop data architecture, data standards and data policies to ensure integrity for the data resource and leadership in managing information as a valuable, sustainable asset. This role will work with the Lead Data Architect to provide expertise and assist on a number of major initiatives underway at the Ministry of Education.
Qualifications for this role include:
Degree, diploma, certification in the computer science field or equivalent plus experience at an intermediate analyst level
Experience leading and/or participating on project teams
Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas:
information resource management
corporate data design
relational and/or object data modeling
data warehousing and/or business area analysis techniques
data management principles
structured analysis and design
documentation of business requirements
At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in a corporate systems environment setting and managing Data Architecture standards.
