Accepting applications for part time snow plow/sand truck and/or case 580 Loader operator for the 2018/2019 plowing season in Shawanaga First Nation


  • Valid driver’s license
  • Available to be on call 7 days per week, minimum 45 minute notice
  • Must be reliable, responsible, cautious, and demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to work day/evening/night or weekend shifts, as weather determines
  • Able to plow/sand for duration of any storms to approx. 8 hours a day
  • Able to report for work by 5:00 AM, for overnight storms
  • Follow assigned priority plowing schedule
  • Season runs Dec. 1st or first snow fall through to April 30th or spring thaw
  • Snow bank push back, hydrant access, and preliminary storm clean up
  • Daily circle checks, able to fix minor repairs on the go
  • Report to regular public work staff as necessary

Prior plowing/sanding experience considered an asset. Area of operation to be within Shawanaga First Nation: Administration Office, Store, Healing Centre, APS Building, Water Plant, Well Site #3, School, Church, Rec Centre, and various specified driveways throughout SFN

Preference may be given to Aboriginal candidates with relevant on reserve employment experience and/ or those with knowledge and understanding of Shawanaga First Nation history and community.
