Salary: $35,000.00 annually for 40 hours per week

– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook or a chef in an established restaurant is required
– Experience of working in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese cuisine are assets

Job duties
– Prepare, make and present Japanese dishes on the menu including Sushi dishes;
– Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances as necessary;
– Maintain inventory and records of food, ingredients, supplies and equipment;
– Maintain records of food costs and consumption;
– Place order for food, ingredients, supplies and equipment;
– Clean kitchen and work areas;
– Inspect work areas for safety and health hazards;
– Train newly hired kitchen helpers and cooks in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Supervise and direct kitchen helpers and cooks;
– Monitor quality and production levels of foods and dishes;
– Plan and develop new menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs
