Salary: $40,000.00 annually for 40 hours per week

Qualifications
– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook or a chef in an established restaurant is required
– Experience of working in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese cuisine are assets

Job duties
– Prepare, make and present Nigiri Sushi, Aburi Oshi Sushi (torched and pressed Sushi), Sashimi dishes, and Sushi Rolls;
– Prepare, cook, and present appetizers and dishes on the menu on a regular basis;
– Prepare, cook and present Kaiseki (feature course menu);
– Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances upon request;
– Clean and organize kitchen and work areas;
– Inspect work areas for safety or health hazards;
– Monitor quality and production levels of the dishes prepared by kitchen helpers and cooks;
– Plan and create new menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food, requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies;
– Maintain records of food costs, consumption and inventory, and place orders as necessary;
– Train kitchen helpers and cooks in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Supervise and instruct kitchen helpers and cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
