The Senior Advisor, Decision Support is accountable for providing strategic value added HR reporting and analytical insights that tell our story and influence business decisions.

General Accountabilities:

  • Develop insights into business and operational opportunities through data driven reporting and analysis
  • Support the HR leadership team, Centres of Excellence and HR Business Partner teams to understand business challenges and develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs
  • Support the development of the appropriate visuals and dashboard to deliver insights and tell our story
  • Report on key people related metrics critical to the successful management of Hydro One’s business objectives and support regulatory fillings
  • Identify appropriate statistical analysis techniques required to deliver insights
  • Leverage internal HR data using internal tools, systems, and data sources

Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources or related fields
  • A minimum of 5 – 7 years’ related human resources data analyst experience

Experience

  • Experience with SAP BI Reporting, dashboard functionality
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors including Workforce Analytics would be an asset
  • Advanced computer skills and expert proficiency in the use of Excel including vlookups, if statements, advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts etc.
  • Experience creating predictive models to forecast workforce requirements based on attrition, work program and business requirements
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the analytical processes that fuse HR and business data (people analytics) and how this information can drive higher levels of organizational performance
  • Extensive background in data extraction, manipulation of raw data, data relationships, data mining and metrics used in the preparation of reports, dashboards and presentations
  • Strong vision of how this role can impact company performance
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in the analysis of a wide range of data
  • Proven ability to think conceptually, problem-solve, and generate practical solutions
  • Ability to take full ownership of assigned projects and see those projects through to completion
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines and adapt to changing needs and expectations
  • Strong capabilities and knowledge of databases such as Microsoft Access would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarize information concisely and present in written, graphical and/or verbal format in order to convey complex information to all levels of stakeholders
  • The ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff to develop strong working relationships with individuals across the company
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Tech-savvy to utilize HR systems to create reports and metrics and ability to translate data to provide advice and guidance to managers, executives, peers on creating and sustaining positive impact.
  • Excels at building partnerships, both inside and outside the team, and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Strong problem solving skills: able to define the problem and generate appropriate solutions in a timely manner
