Working with technology entrepreneurs, capital providers, stakeholders, industry, and government, the Ministry’s Investment Capital Branch (ICB) provides programs to increase the quality and quantity of the venture capital market in BC, explores new ways to increase BC businesses’ access to financing, and enhances the visibility of BC as a market for attractive venture capital opportunities in North America and globally.  The ICB is the government’s area of expertise in start-up and expansion capital financing for small and medium-sized businesses and is a component of the BC Tech Strategy to grow BC tech companies and expand BC’s tech sectors.

ICB’s activities increase access to venture capital and contribute to the diversification of the BC economy through economic development and job creation.

As the Stakeholder Relations Coordinator it is your responsibility to develop and coordinate stakeholder engagement initiatives to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services. This position is responsible for planning stakeholder engagement opportunities, logistics for key stakeholder events, preparing supporting materials, maintaining stakeholder information and facilitating cross-branch and cross-ministry collaboration. This position reports to the Venture Capital Funds Initiative Manager and plays a key role in supporting ICB’s activities.

Qualifications for this role include:
⦁    Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, or equivalent.
⦁    Experience in public relations, stakeholder management, corporate communications or media relations in a large organization, or related experience.
⦁    Experience in editing and writing communication materials (e.g. briefing notes and presentations).
⦁    Knowledge of general communications principles, concepts and methodologies including media relations and media production. Experience in creating marketing materials and using graphics.
⦁    Knowledge of how to coordinate formal and informal consultation processes.
