The purpose of this position is to provide senior technical engineering services.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Diploma in Civil Technology and 7 years related (and recent) experience, or
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Materials Engineering and 5 years related (and recent) experience.
Preferred to be registered, or eligible for registration with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC), or to be registered or immediately eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
Related experience includes:
Experience in materials testing and evaluation, product evaluation, and process inspection and troubleshooting for civil earthworks and bridge projects.
Extensive experience with concrete mix design, mix constituent materials including aggregate, cementitious material, chemical admixtures, batching, transporting, placing, finishing and curing procedures for civil earthworks and bridge projects.
Experience interpreting material specifications and standards.
Experience performing specification compliance reviews and in exercising independent judgement and assessing risk for non-compliance acceptance.
Experience with laboratory and field testing, and inspection of materials including aggregate, soils and concrete.
Experience developing short, medium and long term program plans to meet program deadlines and financial targets.
Experience with bridge deck condition evaluation including assessment techniques, defects, deterioration principles, data interpretation, concrete repair, maintenance and rehabilitation work.
Experience conducting field work including sampling, testing, and performing visual assessments.
Preference may be given to the following:
Experience in contract procurement and administration.
Experience testing or inspecting soils, aggregates, asphalt, steel & wood fencing products, metal culverts, etc.
Experience writing memos and technical reports, preparing presentations, in a manner that conveys content concisely and accurately sometimes to a non-technical audience.
Experience planning, organizing and managing projects and managing multiple priorities and producing results with limited human and financial resources.
Experience managing programs and project budgets.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
Willingness to travel
May be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions including walking/hiking in difficult terrain
