In this position you will provide specialist services to the Natural Resource Sector in evaluating resource applications, conducting applied research, and leading or participating in complex projects.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience requirements as outlined below:

Education:

  • Degree in a natural resource field OR; a technical diploma in a natural resource field and 3 years of related experience OR; Grade 12 or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.

Experience:

  • Experience leading and managing complex projects.
  • Experience resolving conflict in a manner that satisfies stakeholders with varying and opposing interests.
  • Experience in finding solutions to Crown Land disposition challenges.
  • Comprehensive experience working in natural resource management, either in the field and/or working in the office. Preference may be given to candidates who have 4 years or more experience.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Training or course work in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing licensing and leasing documents, agreements, and authorizations.
  • Experience in First Nation engagement and consultation.
  • Demonstrated Crown Lands experience.
  • Experience supervising, leading, coaching and mentoring staff.

Willingness Statements:

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s license or equivalent.
