11 Kitikmeot Inuit complete Driller’s Assistant Training

CAMBRIDGE BAY, NU (August 1, 2017) – Geotech Drilling Services – a Kitikmeot Corporation company – has delivered another very successful Driller’s Assistant Training Program.  11 Inuit from various Kitikmeot communities graduated from the intensive multi-week course held in Cambridge Bay, NU.

“It is important that the companies we invest in provide opportunities such as employment and training to our beneficiaries” said David Omilgoitok, President and CEO for Kitikmeot Corporation.  “In the Kitikmeot we are witnessing steady developments within the mining industry, which has placed a demand on the need for skilled workers.  Developing specialized programs like the Driller’s Assistant training allows our companies the ability to advance individuals within the industry.”

As with last years program, Geotech Drilling Services worked in partnership with the Kitikmeot Inuit Association, Government of Nunavut and TMAC Resources to support the delivery requirements associated with this training program.
