2022 Arctic Winter Games Official Dates and Host Society Directors Announced

(Fort McMurray, AB – July 9, 2019) – The Arctic Winter Games International Committee has confirmed the dates for the 2022 Wood Buffalo Arctic Winter Games. The Games will be held March 6 – 12, 2022.

“We are pleased to confirm the dates for the 2022 Arctic Winter Games in Wood Buffalo,” said John Flynn, President of the Arctic Winter Games International Committee. “We are looking forward to coming to Wood Buffalo for the Games and know it will be a great experience for everyone involved.”

Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Council, along with 2022 Arctic Winter Games Host Society Co-Chairs Melissa Blake and Nicole Bourque-Bouchier, are also pleased to announce the appointment of the Directors for the 2022 Wood Buffalo Arctic Winter Games Host Society.

The Director appointments are as follows:

Director of Administration – Ashley Ryan
Director of Care & Comfort – Jean-Marc Guillamot
Director of Marketing & Public Relations – Michelle Toner
Director of Sports Facilities – Erica Brewer
Director of Sports Technical – Kelsey Green
Director of Communication & IT – Greg Tolson
Director of Cultural & Ceremonies – Allison Flett
Director of Volunteer & Protocol – Michelle Farrow
Director at Large – Chelsi Ryan
Kim Rizzi

“We would like to thank all those who applied for Director positions on the 2022 Arctic Winter Games Board. We were very pleased to receive a significant number of applications, showcasing our regional excitement and indicating a strong interest in getting involved as we head towards the Games,” said RMWB Mayor Don Scott. “With the dates now confirmed, the Host Society will be able to begin the important work of planning and delivering the Games.”

“It’s exciting to have Directors in place and to begin our work as a Host Society. Nicole and I are looking forward to working with the Directors as we bring the 2022 Games to the participants and our region,” said Melissa Blake, Co-Chair of the 2022 Wood Buffalo Arctic Winter Games Host Society.

“We are pleased to welcome these great individuals to the Host Society. With a combination of those with previous games experience and others that will bring fresh new ideas, I know we will be able to present an exciting and memorable experience,” said Nicole Bourque-Bouchier, Co-Chair of the 2022 Wood Buffalo Arctic Winter Games Host Society.
