AARP Foundation Awards Grant to First Nations Development Institute to Support Food Security for Senior Populations in Native American Communities
Longmont, Colorado (March 8, 2012) – First Nations Development Institute (First Nations) received a $187,660 grant from AARP Foundation to support its Native American Food Security project. The Native American Food Security project will support the efforts of Native American tribes or organizations working to eliminate food insecurity among senior populations in Native American communities. First Nations will award up to five grants, ranging from $20,000 to $25,000, to tribes or organizations in the states of Arizona, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma working toward this end.Click here for more information.
