About the Award
Launched in 2007, this award was created by AFOA Canada to address demand in our communities for Aboriginal financial management professionals. With the generous sponsorship and support of PotashCorp, we are celebrating our 12th Aboriginal Youth Financial Management Awards! The Awards are open to all Aboriginal youth in grades 11 and 12. Applicants are required to submit an essay which is reviewed and ranked by a selection committee. Recipients will be flown to Vancouver to participate in AFOA Canada’s Inaugural International Conference and special youth program. Students are introduced to career opportunities in financial management, meet financial management and academic professionals, as well as Aboriginal Leaders, and are provided with information on pursuing an education in financial management. All award recipients also become eligible for a $5,000 scholarship.
