AFOA Canada’s Director of Education and Training, Dr. Paulette Tremblay Announced as The Recipient of The 2015 Indspire Award in Education

AFOA CANADA’S DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING, DR. PAULETTE TREMBLAY ANNOUNCED AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE 2015 INDSPIRE AWARD IN EDUCATION
Ottawa, Ontario‐October 29, 2014 – The Board of Directors, President and CEO, and staff of AFOA Canada (formerly the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada) are pleased to congratulate Dr. Paulette C. Tremblay, Director of Education and Training at AFOA Canada on the announcement of being a 2015 Indspire Award recipient in the Education Category. Dr. Paulette Tremblay joined AFOA Canada in 2012 to oversee the successful development and implementation of the Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator (CAPA) program and has since been instrumental in the design and development of several high quality education products and financial literacy research studies for AFOA Canada.
The Indspire Awards, the highest honour bestowed by Indigenous people on their own achievers, have celebrated the significant contributions of Indigenous people in Canada for 22 years. The Indspire Awards recognize the success of individuals who have the discipline, drive, and determination to set high standards and accomplish their goals. They promote self‐esteem and pride for the Indigenous community and provide outstanding role models for Indigenous youth.

Being passionate about lifelong learning for our people, my work in Education has been a labour of love which I shall continue well into the future.” says Paulette Tremblay.
Dr. Paulette C. Tremblay is a First Nations Mohawk woman from Six Nations of the Grand River, Ontario, and has worked in the public sector for almost 40 years. She is currently the National Advisory Committee Chair for the Purdy Crawford Chair at Cape Breton University, and an Associate Professor with the Indigenous Knowledge Centre at Six Nations Polytechnic.
Prior to joining AFOA Canada, she held a number of senior level positions including the CEO for the National Aboriginal Health Organization, Director of Education at the National Aboriginal
Achievement Foundation, Director of Education for the Assembly of First Nations and the Senior Administrative Officer for the Six Nations Council. She has been a former professor at the Six Nations Polytechnic Institute, Algonquin College and the University of Ottawa. Dr. Tremblay has been a curriculum designer; educational, evaluation and training consultant for the private sector; a management instructor, consultant and policy analyst for the federal government; and a high school teacher and counselor. She has also been the author of many reports, articles and educational curricula.
The 22nd Annual Indspire Awards gala will be held on February 27, 2015 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary.
