Alvin Fiddler, Deputy Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation
NationTalk speaks to Alvin Fiddler, Deputy Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. An independent review on Aboriginal representation on Ontario juries has been released. It’s been just over a year-and-a-half since the province asked former Supreme Court of Canada Justice Frank Iocabucci to look into jury proceedings which came to a grinding halt in Northwestern Ontario especially because of the lack of Aboriginal representation.
Deputy Grand Chief Fiddler talks about the report and is optimistic the province is willing to move forward to correct jury panel issues.
