ABORIGINAL PEOPLES CHOICE MUSIC AWARDS
August 1, 2013, Winnipeg, Manitoba – Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) announced today it will broadcast LIVE the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards (APCMA) on Sunday, August 18, 2013.
Held at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, the APCMAs arrive early this year and symbolize the largest applause given to Aboriginal musicians in Canada. Lorne Cardinal is back as host for his 8th consecutive year.
This year’s lineup includes blues multi-instrumentalist Gary Sappier, hip hop infused/electro house group LightningCloud, blues singer and guitarist George Leach, country singer-songwriter Jade Turner, gospel singer Yvonne St. Germaine, cellist and multi-faceted composer Cris Derksen, contemporary-folk musician Nick Sherman, high-energy rock duo The Johnny’s and a special co-performance by Drezus and Inez.
A new addition is APTN Webstage Pass Live from the Red Carpet hosted by APTN’s Shaneen Robinson and her special co-host Michelle Thrush of Blackstone fame. This event will be streamed live exclusively at aptn.ca/pages/webstagepass starting at 6:00 p.m. ET. Following the Red Carpet, tune into APTN, for the live on-air and online broadcast of the APCMAs.

APTN will bring the awards to Canada via the LIVE broadcast and online. The exclusive two-and-a-half hour broadcast of the APCMAs will air on APTN and APTN HD at
8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 18. LIVE streaming of the awards will also be available at aptn.ca/pages/webstagepass.
