The Saul T. Gallery on Main Street won’t have its official opening until this spring but curious visitors and groups of students are already finding their way to the new gallery.

Located at 538 Main Street, the gallery will feature the creations of St’at’imc sculptor/painter/carver Saul Terry.

Terry was the president of the Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs for 15 years (1983 to 1998) and served multiple terms as chief of Xwisten (Bridge River Band), becoming a leading advocate on complex issues such as title and rights..

In those days, politics consumed most of his time, but now he has turned his energy towards his art and towards establishing the gallery in the long, narrow building, which he and his wife Joanne purchased from Gold Trail School District 74.
