Artists look to heritage to inspire contemporary work – Warwick Daily News

IT IS almost a magical experience watching Edward Colliss’ artwork take shape.

A seemingly simple dot placed next to another dot sets in place the creation of a unique, contemporary artwork.

His hypnotic images feature expert cross hatching, dots, both small and large, and precision lines.

Some say his work is on par with some of the best indigenous artists in the land.

Mr Colliss, or Whistle as he is known at the Height Community Centre, is part of a growing local indigenous art movement.
