Arts Partners in Creative Development Announces $6.5 Million Investment in BC Arts and Culture
A new contribution program called Arts Partners in Creative Development has been announced. Funded by a consortium of public and private agencies, Arts Partners in Creative Development is designed to assist B.C. arts and cultural organizations create and develop new works, or further develop existing works, and to support the achievement of a high level of excellence with the intent of producing, presenting or exhibiting them at the highest standard.
The initial investment over three years is $6.5 million. Organizations can apply for up to 90 per cent of development and/or commissioning cost to create, commission and develop original work in the performing, visual, media or literary arts to a maximum of $300,000. There will be two application intakes in 2007.
The program is funded jointly by the Province of B.C., City of Vancouver, Canada Council for the Arts, Vancouver Foundation, Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) and 2010 Legacies Now.
