Association of Canadian Community Colleges: Conference to Address Challenges in Post-Secondary Education
OTTAWA, ONTARIO–(May 10, 2007) – To address the major issues affecting the Canadian post-secondary education sector, over 700 members of the college and institute community from across Canada will meet in Montreal from May 27-29 at the annual conference of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC).ACCC is the national and international voice of 150 Canadian colleges, university-colleges, institutes of technology and cegeps. Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will address the delegates.
The conference will also highlight a media panel moderated by Heather Hiscox, Anchor Chair, and host of CBC News: Morning, and featuring Edward Greenspon, Editor-in-Chief, The Globe and Mail; Josee Boileau, News Editor, Le Devoir; and, Gretta Chambers; Broadcaster and Journalist.
Hosted by12 Montreal area colleges and cegeps, the conference will offer over 50 concurrent sessions covering topics such as:

– emergency preparedness;

– health and learning of young adults;
– skills gaps;

– quality learning and teaching.
