B.C. builds partnerships through new HousingHub – Journal Of Commerce

VICTORIA — The Government of British Columbia has allocated $20 million to establish a new HousingHub that will bring local governments, Indigenous partners, the non-profit sector and developers together through innovative partnerships to create affordable housing options.

“Building affordable homes for middle-income people is key to tackling the housing crisis,” said B.C. Premier John Horgan in a release. “That’s why we have created the HousingHub – to bring people and organizations together to build homes people need, quickly.”

The hub’s focus will be on developing homes for people with average incomes between $50,000 and $100,000.

The B.C. government also recently announced funding for 14,000 new rental homes throughout the province.
