B.C., Haida reach deal on Queen Charlotte Islands

VANCOUVER — The B.C. government has reached a land-use deal with the Haida Nation that increases protected areas to cover about half the Queen Charlotte Islands, an area that’s been compared with the Galapagos Islands for its environmental significance.
