B.C. youth launches podcast to talk about experiences in the foster care system – APTN News

Jordan Williams grew up in British Columbia’s foster care system, and she’s talking about it.

The 19-year-old Victoria teen is the host of a new podcast called the “The Kid Advocate,” which is hosted on B.C.’s Representative for Children and Youth website.

“I have a story to tell and I want to just inspire other youth to tell theirs too,” says Williams, who has put out eight episodes of the podcast about her experiences growing up in, and aging out of, B.C.’s foster care system.

Williams, a member of the office’s social media youth team, says the idea for her podcast was sparked by a co-worker.
