Mary Culbertson, the first Indigenous woman to act as Saskatchewan’s Treaty Commissioner, takes on the role at a critical time for Saskatchewan.

In February, lawyer Mary Culbertson became Saskatchewan’s new Treaty Commissioner.

She is the province’s first Indigenous woman in the role.

She’s come into it at a critical time for Saskatchewan.

“I really want to work on building relationships, especially in our rural communities. And that takes public education.
