Canada Election: Trudeau pledges to bring clean power to Indigenous communities

Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau announced on Oct. 8 if re-elected, his government would “go even further to protect the environment” by conserving more land and water, assist people retrofitting their homes, and build an economy that “drives clean tech innovation.” He also said that he’d make sure all Indigenous communities are powered by clean energy rather than by diesel, by the year 2030.
Trudeau made the announcement during his visit to Iqaluit in Nunavut.
