Joy Smith, Member of Parliament for Kildonan-St. Paul, will represent Minister Thompson during the dedication ceremony.”The Sgt. Veterans Affairs is proud to be a part of the dedication of this monument.”

The Sgt. Tommy Prince MM Veterans Park was built in memory of the Winnipeg “North-Enders”, local Veterans who made the supreme sacrifice in the First World War, Second World War, Korean War and during peacekeeping missions.

“The legacy of Sgt. Tommy Prince will forever be honoured,” said Donald Mackey, C.D., Chairperson for the Sgt. Tommy Prince MM Memorial Fund Committee. “As of this Sunday, the people of Winnipeg will be able to visit this tribute and commemorate a local hero, his achievements and sacrifice.”
