WHY: “In the past, productive business relationships with Canada’s Aboriginal people were seen as a philanthropic exercise by some companies. Today, it is simply good business, “says CCAB’s Clint Davis.

Milton K. Wong will speak about how Aboriginal business leaders can use collaboration as a key advantage for economic progress. Mr. Wong believes when Aboriginal businesses become true partners in strong collaborative ventures, success follows. With the recent global financial crisis as an example of what can go wrong when collaborative efforts are built on morally weak foundations, he will discuss why Canada was spared the worst of the crisis, and explore the factors that bode well for our economy including Aboriginal businesses.

Clarence Louie and Jay Wright will share the story behind one of the most successful and unique joint ventures to date — between Vincor Canada, the country’s largest wine producer and marketer, and the Osoyoos Indian Band. The talents and resources of Vincor and the Osoyoos make the wines of Nk’Mip Cellars.
