Spirit Bear’s Child‑Friendly Calls to Action
This year, Spirit Bear and his friends put together a new learning guide for young people to better understand the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was created to listen to the stories about residential schools and then write those stories down so we could learn from our mistakes.
The 94 Calls to Action are activities all governments, courts, businesses, schools, and people living in Canada can do to help fix the mistakes of the past and present so that all children – including First Nations, Métis, and Inui children – can grow up happy, healthy, safe and proud of who they are.
It is important for all of us to be informed about the TRC and the Calls to Action. This guide is written by Spirit Bear as a way for youth of all ages to read and understand how to make reconciliation a reality in Canada.
