City of Ottawa: Celebrate Heritage Day at City Hall
February 12, 2020
Join the City of Ottawa on Tuesday, February 18 as we celebrate Heritage Day 2020.
This year’s theme – 2020 Vision: Bringing the Past into the Future – reminds everyone to explore their local heritage, to get involved with stewardship and advocacy groups and to visit museums, archives and places of significance. It’s also an important day to recognize the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation, First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and their elders and ancestors for their valuable contributions to this land.
Browse the displays and mingle with more than 40 exhibitors at the heritage showcase. Check out the contributions of dedicated staff and volunteers who are promoting heritage conservation and educating the public about Ottawa’s history. There will also be a sneak peak at the City’s future exhibit, Ottawa Unearthed, which features artefacts recovered from LeBreton Flats, Lansdowne Park and Lac Leamy archaeological sites.
The event runs from 11:30 am to 2 pm in Jean Pigott Place at Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West.
