City of Toronto Responds to Oneida Nation’s Green Lane Court Challenge
TORONTO, Jan. 22 – The Oneida Nation of the Thames today announced it has initiated a court challenge regarding the issuance of the September 2006 Certificate of Approval for the expansion of the Green Lane landfill site.
Based on comments from the Chief that the matter is before the courts, the City is not in a position to make comment.
The City of Toronto is continuing its final due diligence with a closing date of late March, 2007.
The City is committed to operating the landfill as a good neighbour and intends to abide by all conditions of the Provincial Certificate of Approval.
