Conference Board of Canada launches Northern portal
Conference Board of Canada
August 23, 2010 – The Conference Board of Canada has recently launched the Centre for the North—a five-year initiative to develop, with stakeholders, a shared vision of sustainable prosperity for Canada’s North and the policies and strategies that will help the region prosper.The main purpose of the Centre for the North is to work with Aboriginal leaders, businesses, governments, communities, educational institutions, and other organizations, to achieve a shared vision of sustainable prosperity in the North.
Most important, the Centre will help define the actions required to realize that vision. As part of this Centre, we have just launched its online portal, and we welcome you to visit our website at www.centreforthenorth.ca to:
•access our insights on Northern issues;
•view our blog “Here, The North,” a bi-weekly series designed to illustrate the similarities and differences between Canada’s North and South; and
•vote in our “Northern Poll,” a question of the month on a key Northern topic.
Come and visit our site, join our portal, and let us know your perspective on key Northern issues.
