Conference Call with Minister Raitt to Discuss Joint Survey in the Arctic

OTTAWA — The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Natural Resources, along with Canadian and U.S. officials, will participate in a conference call with media to discuss the preliminary results of the joint scientific survey in the Arctic. The chief scientists of the respective Canadian and U.S. survey teams and the captains of the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Louis S. St-Laurent and the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy will also participate from aboard their ships in the high Arctic.The mission, which has been underway since August 7, continues the collaboration in extended continental shelf data collection in the Arctic started during last summer’s joint Canada–U.S. survey, with plans for further cooperation in 2010.
