The Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB) is hosting a conference on “Engaging Aboriginal Communities in Natural Resource Management.” The objective of the conference is to better understand the range of opportunities and methods of effectively including Aboriginal people so that their issues and concerns are both considered and accommodated during planning processes and Natural Resource Management. The conference will be a forum to share successes and challenges, facilitate new ideas, contribute to discussion and debate the issues. The topics may be controversial but the issues are real and need public consideration.
