Almost everyone promised fiscal responsibility.
But Wednesday night, candidates for Lethbridge city council also spoke out in favour of a new convention/exhibition facility, a new performing arts centre, and improved transit service.
An overflow crowd heard 26 of 29 candidates make their pitch at the downtown library, as the Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs hosted its first of two forums. Four candidates for the mayor’s job are scheduled to speak in the library’s Theatre Gallery at 7 p.m. today.
Three seats were vacant Wednesday, with Tyler Gschaid, George McCrea and James Suge noted as unexpected no-shows.
