Wholesale trade, August 2017
Wholesale sales rose 0.5% to $62.8 billion in August, led by the personal and household goods and motor vehicle and parts subsectors.
Food services and drinking places, August 2017
Sales at food services and drinking places totalled $5.7 billion in August, unchanged (0.0%) from July. Prices for food purchased from restaurants rose 2.6% in the 12 months to August, while prices for alcoholic beverages increased 1.7%.
Natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, August 2017
Natural gas transmission pipelines received 533.6 million gigajoules of natural gas from fields, gathering systems and plants in August, unchanged compared with the same month in 2016. Six provinces posted receipts, with Alberta (73.8%) and British Columbia (24.0%) holding the majority.
Energy consumption by the manufacturing sector, 2016
The manufacturing sector consumed 2 093 petajoules of energy as part of the production process in 2016, down 0.9% from 2015.
Refined petroleum products, September 2017
Data on the production, inventories and domestic sales of refined petroleum products for Canada and the regions are now available for September upon request.
Quarterly civil aviation statistics, first quarter 2017
The number of air carriers increased from 24 in 2016 to 26 in 2017, as two Level III air carriers were promoted to Level II. Total operating revenue for the 26 largest Canadian air carriers increased 7.2% from the first quarter of 2016 to $5.5 billion in the first quarter of 2017. Total operating expenses grew 8.9% to $5.3 billion.
Revision of motor vehicle fuel sales
Nunavut motor vehicle fuel sales data for 2015 have been revised.
