Deer Lake, On: Sudden Death Investigation
(Deer Lake) On September 3, 2009, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service received information about the sudden death of an 18 year old male from Deer Lake First Nation.The deceased had succumbed to injuries received from a single motor vehicle collision. Members from the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service North West Crime Unit are investigating with the assistance from an Accident Reconstruction Investigator from the Ontario Provincial Police.
The cause of death is undetermined at this time. An update will be released after a post mortem examination is completed at Kenora Lake of the Woods Hospital on Friday, September 4, 2009.
Deer Lake First Nation is located approximately 725 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay.
