Calling all students, parents, school counsellors and job seekers looking for career inspiration

LAX KW’ALAAMS – WorkBC’s Find Your Fit Tour will be in Lax Kw’alaams at the Coast Tsimshian Academy on Nov. 16 and open to the public from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“B.C. needs a new generation of innovators to build a better B.C.,” said Advanced Education, Skills and Training Minister Melanie Mark. “WorkBC’s Find Your Fit tour stop in Lax Kw’alaams is an opportunity for students to get the hands-on experience and information about well-paying careers in their community and throughout B.C.”

The Find Your Fit Tour stop in Lax Kw’alaams is a great opportunity for students to get an insider’s look at a range of careers, including the skilled trades such as carpenters, electricians and heavy-duty equipment mechanics needed in the Northwest Coast region.

WorkBC’s Find Your Fit is a hands-on experience that allows participants to explore a variety of careers. It also provides valuable information about what jobs will be in high-demand by employers in the region and throughout British Columbia.

Industries, such as tourism, tech and health care will need a broad range of skilled British Columbians. The Find Your Fit Tour stop in Lax Kw’alaams is a unique opportunity to get an insight into careers that are in demand by industries that are important to building a strong, sustainable and innovative economy for the 21st century that works for everyone.

“Find Your Fit tour is an opportunity for students and parents in our communities to experience careers with high demand in our region, and learn about the education and training they need to get them,” said MLA for North Coast Jennifer Rice.

The Find Your Fit Tour builds on the government commitment to provide British Columbians with the services they need by providing them the information to help them make decisions about education and training. The tour will make its way throughout the province in the coming months.

The Find Your Fit Tour and WorkBC.ca are first steps for all British Columbians on a journey to a discovering vital career information that will build a better future for them, and help build a better B.C. for everyone.
